How come you live in North County now?
JC: I came down here a bunch in high school and
just really liked it. I like Encinitas and Leucadia,
liked the funkiness of it all. I think because
I have a lot of friends down here. It seems like
everyone has a really good time down here, the
quality of life is really good, lots of waves,
job opportunities, lots of music going on, just
a lot of stuff happening. The water is nice too,
so much warmer. I don't know. I was gonna move
back up to Santa Cruz, but yeah, the little bit
bigger of a city feel I like, I wasn't quite ready
for the super small town of Santa Cruz yet.
KL:
Have any particular songs been floating around
in your world?
JC: There is some Imogen Heap, Hoobastank, I just
got their new album last week, I like supporting
those guys, I grew up with them, and they had
a musical influence on me growing up, so it's
always cool to hear what Doug has got to say,
he's kinda like my older brother. And um, I like
Missy Higgins, and that's about it lately. I've
been kinda on a pop kick, I got back into Debbie
Gibson, so that's been fun, revisiting all those
songs.
