JettyGirl: Any New Year's resolutions for 2008?
Violet Kimble: Humm...start running (ha I've started every year...just got to finish one).

JG: If you were to donate time or money to a charitable organization or cause in 2008, what would it be and why?
VK: I would donate to Keep A Breast. Cancer is common in my family and among the many forms of cancer, breast cancer seems to be one of the most common. It's something that affects both women and men and with the right contributions it can be stopped.

JG: Judging on any category you find relevant, name five female surfers to watch for in 2008 and why.
VK: Miss Jen Smith (the great) ha, as I call her. Jen has been my best friend for years now, I've watched her mature not only as a woman but as an athlete. 2007 was an amazing year for her, shining like the beautiful soul she is. She has dominated every major contest of the year and has been an inspiration for women everywhere. Watch out for her in 2008.

Steph Gilmore ...what can I say, the girl is meant to surf! When she won the Roxy Pro at 18, people knew she was bound for greatness. Cheers to the new world champ..and fellow Aquarian.

Claire Bevilacqua. A powerful surfer and all around athlete. Claire is the size of your thumb with the heart of a giant. Though her skills show more in her free surfing rather than in competition, she gives the girls a run for their money. She'll be out there on the biggest days ready to take on the world ...and at the end of it all ...she'll make you one mean Italian dinner.

Shea Hodges. RIPPA SHREDDA...ha, those are the first words that come to mind. She has got to be one of the most modest people I know (if that's even how you would say it) but you get that girl in the water and she will be airing over your head left and right. The Hawaiian girl turned O'side local has got one of the smoothest styles and can hack just about the worst surf Cali can throw at you. She's one to look out for, for sure.

Rebecca Woods. If style and grace had a name would be Rebecca Woods. She's got a roundhouse cutback that will even make the boys jealous. A powerful surfer with a powerful soul she is always ready to charge. Bec has been one of the most consistent surfers on tour proving her determination and devotion to the sport of surfing. The world knows she's bound to do great things. One conversation with her and she'll make you believe the same.
