HB:
Back on the women's pro thing, who is your favorite
girl to watch?
KL: Mel Bartels probably.
Spontaneous, the airs and that... just doing trick
things. Looking good. On the tour?
HB: Of anyone. Who inspires
you?
KL: Mel Bartels for sure
inspires me. The big wave surfers definitely.
I can't believe what some of the girls are charging.
Super inspiring.
HB: Jam Star and that...
KL: Jam Star, Rochelle,
Keala.
HB: How about the boys.
Do you watch the boys much?
KL: Um, like videos you
mean or contests?
HB: Whatever your avenue
is for exposure. Do you have a guy surfer that
you watch his style maybe now, maybe growing up?
KL: Kalani Rob used to be.
Taylor Knox for sure. Just love his style and
the power he puts into turns and that. He grew
up in Carlsbad so I for sure grew up watching
him and getting stoked on him. I really like Parko,
Joel Parkinson. The way he surfs. Fluid. Kim Mayer
too is fun to watch, surfs really well. I like
watching you surf for sure. Some of those photos
in Hawaii, just super random, that frontside tail
slide thing you do is pretty sweet.
HB: Nice, thanks. Shout
outs, hugs, and love!
KL: So many hugs and love!
To my family, my mom and my dad, to my brothers
- huge inspirations to me - to all my friends,
to my sponsors, O'neill, Gallaz, Dakine, T.Patterson
Surfboards, Anarchy sunglasses, Sticky Bumps,
to my Grandma and and all of my family thank you
so much for being so supportive and awesome and
fun to hang out! Maple Street locals wat wat!
To Karin Moran for being cool. To the ocean for
being a place that I want to spend most of my
time. That's about it probably. Peace and love!
