KL:
Favorite bumper sticker?
KM: Arrive inspired, not dog tired! Hahaha I love
that one!
KL:
Do you adhere to that motive?
KM: I try to.
KL:
Being so amped most of the time, do you ever hit
a wall?
KM: Definitely. I try to get a solid night sleep
and take naps when I can, so I can go get 'em!
KL:
What gives you the most energy?
KM: Either seeing really really good, uncrowded
waves, or really really good friends.
KL:
Outside of surfing, who inspires you?
KM: My parents. They're just so rad and they're
all in love, and they're doing exactly what they
want to be doing. My dad is a really hard worker
and very determined, I really admire that about
him.
KL:
Tell me a little more about your family.
KM: I have the sweetest family. My dad surfs and
is a pharmacist in Boulder Creek, (in the mountains
behind Santa Cruz). And my mom is awesome, so
supportive of whatever I'm doing, and is such
a stoked person. I'm always happy to go home and
visit them because I get to see again where I
came from. Then I have an older brother who surfs,
and is cool too. My grandparents, aunts, uncles
and cousins live in Santa Cruz as well. But my
second cousins are in Wisconsin and New York.
KM:
What words do you say most often?
KL: Totally, stoked, dude, um, eeer, uh, yeah,
for sure, gnarly, like….
KM:
So you have surfer slang going on huh?
KL: I guess, I think it started out by making
fun of it, like "yeah, dude, shaka gnar gnar",
then it just morphed into the way I talk. Guess
that kinda backfired, carma I suppose.
KL:
Goals for 2006?
KM: Travel. I just want to travel all over the
place and meet people and surf different places
and parts of the world.
