During this past summer, Samantha and I tried to connect for a photo shoot on a variety of occasions but with possibly the worst season of waves and weather on record, the session never materialized. Therefore, we thought we'd showcase a small gallery from the WCT event at Malibu a few years ago instead. The waves at the Rip Curl Malibu Pro back in 2005 were absolutely insane...super fun walls that allowed the girls plenty of room to cut loose. Unfortunately, the weather and lighting conditions did not cooperate as much. I had driven up from San Diego to cover Day 1 but halfway through the day a thick fog bank rolled in and shut everything down. After a few hours the fog lifted to reveal lines and lines of perfect First Point Malibu waves.
