JettyGirl: A one million
dollar check arrives in your mailbox with a
note that reads, "Half of this amount is
yours and the other half is to benefit the world
around you." How would you spend the money?
Simone Reddingius:
There are so many places that can benefit, just
to name a few: Central Asia Institute, Cancer
research, Save Japan Dolphins ...the list goes
on.
JG: Describe the best surfboard
you've ever ridden and why it was special to
you.
Simone: When I
got on the Rincon Designs team (Matt Moore)
it really improved my surfing, all his boards
were magical.
JG: If you could travel
back to any time in history and hang with one
person while they go about their daily activities,
who would it be and why?
Simone: Rell Sunn.
She was so inspirational and it would have been
a real adventure learning about the ocean from
her.
JG: For thirty days you're
stuck on a desert island with one book, one
song, one surf movie and one snack food. Which
ones would you choose?
Simone: Hawaii
by James Michener, Only one song? Hmm... I guess
it would be Xochitl by Luis Villegas,
I can't even pronounce that! Big Wednesday
for the surf movie. Trail mix with M&M's.
JG: What is your best surf-related
memory of 2009?
Simone: Going out
to Jaws this December on Maui and watching them
tow in and getting some great photos.
