JettyGirl: A one million
dollar check arrives in your mailbox with a
note that reads, "Half of this amount is
yours and the other half is to benefit the world
around you." How would you spend the money?
Silvana Lima: I'd
spend a part of it surfing with small schools,
so I could help children have opportunities
that I did not and with another part I'd make
donations for children with cancer and to those
who have nowhere to live or eat, for my life was
very difficult and I would like to improve the
future of some of these children.
JG: Describe the best surfboard
you've ever ridden and why it was special to
you.
Silvana: My best
surfboard ... rsrs (haha or LOL in Brazilian-Portuguese).
I have two green ones ...one I used the entire
year of 2008, I made three finals and won a
bunch with it, rs. I used the other green one
in 2009 and won Bells Beach and the Commonwealth
Bank Classic Beachley (Sydney), these two boards
have left me very happy.
JG: If you could travel
back to any time in history and hang with one
person while they go about their daily activities,
who would it be and why?
Silvana: Surely
Jesus. I'd want to spend a day with Him. Surely
would change my life.
JG: For thirty days you're
stuck on a desert island with one book, one
song, one surf movie and one snack food. Which
ones would you choose?
Silvana: One book
...Cabana. A Black Eyed Peas song.
Billabong's Trilogy with Andy, Parko,
Taj, perfect ...I loved it. Pizza.
JG: What is your best surf-related
memory of 2009?
Silvana: Bells
Beach, because it was my first event title
on the WCT. I will never forget it and it is
my best memory of Surfing 2009.
