JettyGirl: A one million
dollar check arrives in your mailbox with a
note that reads, "Half of this amount is
yours and the other half is to benefit the world
around you." How would you spend the money?
Nikita Robb: I
would spend half of the half ($250,000) on helping
children in South Africa and the other $250,000
would be spent on helping injured abused animals
as they don't have a voice and always need a
home!
JG: Describe the best surfboard
you've ever ridden and why it was special to
you.
Nikita: I would
have to say my 5'6" DGS (South African
shaper), it was a fat little groveler that felt
amazing in little waves. It was the first board
that actually went well in bad, small surf.
It had this aboriginal painting of a wave on
the bottom deck.
JG: If you could travel
back to any time in history and hang with one
person while they go about their daily activities,
who would it be and why?
Nikita: Nelson
Mandela. Just to be in his presence would be
amazing after all the massive things he achieved
in South Africa.
JG: For thirty days you're
stuck on a desert island with one book, one
song, one surf movie and one snack food. Which
ones would you choose?
Nikita: I would
choose a thriller murder type book, because
it would take me about a month to get through
as I might be the world's slowest reader. Music
ummmm, a new song that I hadn't heard of so
I can learn to love it and will always remember
the time I had been stuck on an island. Surf
movie, I love Campaign (the first one),
such a rad movie! Snack food, white coconut
chocolate.
JG: What is your best surf-related
memory of 2009?
Nikita: Surfing
and living in California for 3 months, seeing
new places, like Mammoth and Lake Tahoe and
surfing under the Golden Gate Bridge in San
Francisco. The best surf related session would
have to scoring perfect 4ft Trestles with a
good mellow crowd and some really good friends.
