JettyGirl: A one million
dollar check arrives in your mailbox with a
note that reads, "Half of this amount is
yours and the other half is to benefit the world
around you." How would you spend the money?
Liza Caban: I would
buy a house right in front of my favorite break
here in Puerto Rico. The other half I would
give to different charities around the world.
JG: Describe the best surfboard
you've ever ridden and why it was special to
you.
Liza: The best
surfboard I've ever ridden is a 5'2" Impact
and it's special because I won my first pro
contest with it.
JG: If you could travel
back to any time in history and hang with one
person while they go about their daily activities,
who would it be and why?
Liza: I would go
to the 1960s and hang out with the Beatles so
I could see what a Beatles concert looked like
and get to meet them all.
JG: For thirty days you're
stuck on a desert island with one book, one
song, one surf movie and one snack food. Which
ones would you choose?
Liza: The Notebook,
Time to Pretend by MGMT, Just Add
Water, ramen noodles!!!
JG: What is your best surf-related
memory of 2009?
Liza: Well, just
a couple of days ago I got the sickest barrel
of my life. It was at this place called the
Mix and the waves were about 4 foot and glassy!!
I had a lot of fun that day.
