JettyGirl: A one million
dollar check arrives in your mailbox with a
note that reads, "Half of this amount is
yours and the other half is to benefit the world
around you." How would you spend the money?
Lakey Peterson:
My half I would save and the other half I would
donate to a children's hospital.
JG: Describe the best surfboard
you've ever ridden and why it was special to
you.
Lakey: The best
board I've ever gotten was a 5'4" Al Merrick
MBM+ model. It was the best board I've ever
ridden because I won Nationals on it. It was
very maneuverable.
JG: If you could travel
back to any time in history and hang with one
person while they go about their daily activities,
who would it be and why?
Lakey: I wouldn't
want to travel back to any time because my life
is perfect right now!
JG: For thirty days you're
stuck on a desert island with one book, one
song, one surf movie and one snack food. Which
ones would you choose?
Lakey: Bible, All
The Right Moves by One Republic, Still
Filthy, and Hershey bars because they are
simply delicious.
JG: What is your best surf-related
memory of 2009?
Lakey: Winning
NSSA Nationals. It has been the highlight of
my surfing career!
