JettyGirl: A one million
dollar check arrives in your mailbox with a
note that reads, "Half of this amount is
yours and the other half is to benefit the world
around you." How would you spend the money?
Krissy Mattison:
I would tithe a percentage of my portion to
the Lord, then probably pay off our house and
invest to be able to provide for our three kids.
We are in need of a new car too. How about a
surf trip?
JG: Describe the best surfboard
you've ever ridden and why it was special to
you.
Krissy: That's
so funny! My favorite board is the one
I'm riding right now ...well it's not officially
mine just yet. Sean has a new design called
the "Double Black Diamond." Its design
is between a shortboard and a fish. It
has a wider tail and a quad fin set up.
It's really fast and loose. Sean even
says it makes my surfing more fast and snappy!
Yeh, and after 3 kids it feels good to surf
more progressively!!
JG: If you could travel
back to any time in history and hang with one
person while they go about their daily activities,
who would it be and why?
Krissy: If I could
travel back in time and hang with someone it
would probably be my savior Jesus Christ, to
be able to see how He loved and reached out
to people who were hurting.
JG: For thirty days you're
stuck on a desert island with one book, one
song, one surf movie and one snack food. Which
ones would you choose?
Krissy: If I was
stranded on a desert island for thirty days
I would definitely want the Bible. That would
be a trial in itself to be stranded and the
only thing that could get me through it would
be God's word and a banana!
JG: What is your best surf-related
memory of 2009?
Krissy: Just being
so thankful that we live near the beach, and
that after the kids are off at school I can
jet down to the beach and surf. A lot
of times Sean is there also surfing his peak
and I'm down a ways surfing my left. For
the most part the surfers are friendly and I
enjoy meeting everyone. I love to watch
the girls longboard and pick up on tips how
they ride the nose. But my favorite surfer
is still my husband Sean, he has such a great
fluid style and just plain rips. He's
my own personal surf coach!
