JettyGirl: A one million
dollar check arrives in your mailbox with a
note that reads, "Half of this amount is
yours and the other half is to benefit the world
around you." How would you spend the money?
Darlene Conolly:
$250,000 of drinking water and $250,000 of pepper
jack cheese for all to share!
JG: Describe the best surfboard
you've ever ridden and why it was special to
you.
Darlene: My best
board ever was a 5'10" Channel Islands.
I took it to the Maldives and got to enjoy its
"amazingness" for one very special
day before breaking it while duck diving. I
was so close to crying.
JG: If you could travel
back to any time in history and hang with one
person while they go about their daily activities,
who would it be and why?
Darlene: I don't
really think about things like this. I'm more
preoccupied with thinking about the future than
dwelling on the past.
JG: For thirty days you're
stuck on a desert island with one book, one
song, one surf movie and one snack food. Which
ones would you choose?
Darlene: The
Giver by Lois Lowry. Birth by
The Faint. I'm having issues choosing just one
surf movie. Veggies and ranch dip.
JG: What is your best surf-related
memory of 2009?
Darlene: Any swell
at Seaside ...duh.
