JettyGirl: A one million
dollar check arrives in your mailbox with a
note that reads, "Half of this amount is
yours and the other half is to benefit the world
around you." How would you spend the money?
Bruna Schmitz:
Oh well, that's a lot of money. First, I would
try to get this money into an account in Brazil
without losing much of it, and then try to help
my city, maybe the state, because this may be
a lot of money, but for Brazil it just turns
really small. And with my part, I would just
make sure I travel first class every flight
I get because economy kills me.
JG: Describe the best surfboard
you've ever ridden and why it was special to
you.
Bruna: My best
board was a Sharp Eye I had shaped in California.
That was the first board I ever did with him
and just turned into my best board because I
surfed the whole year with it and I qualified.
JG: If you could travel
back to any time in history and hang with one
person while they go about their daily activities,
who would it be and why?
Bruna: Sounds crazy
but I would go back and live with my great-great
grandfather and I'd make sure that he doesn't
reject his German nationality so then now I'd
be able to get my passport and wouldn't have
to worry about getting visas everywhere I go.
JG: For thirty days you're
stuck on a desert island with one book, one
song, one surf movie and one snack food. Which
ones would you choose?
Bruna: I don't
really like to read, but I would say A Cabana
(in portuguese). Radio by Beyonce.
Young Guns 3, hehehe. Chocolate ...could
I have water after? If not, just water!
JG: What is your best surf-related
memory of 2009?
Bruna: I had a
bunch of really good surf sessions in 2009.
I got really good waves in France, Portugal,
Australia and Hawaii, one of them was the best
one.
