retired in 2008 after a career that has
spanned from her start in 1989 to 2008.
That is almost 20 years in professional
competitive surfing! She has rewritten surfing
stats time and time again. Because of that
fire inside, I firmly believe she has every
intention on reconfiguring what the word
"retirement" means. If Layne does
decide to show up for an event, it will
be to win...of course!"
