Anyone remember these? Surfer trading cards featuring women professional surfers!

It's definitely not Spring but I recently found myself cleaning out some drawers in the JettyGirl office. Check out what I found! Besides neon, big hair and MTV, the 1980s also briefly offered us surfer trading cards. Different sets of cards produced by Astrodeck and Surfspot found their way into surf shops across America.

Along with height, weight, birthdate, home and shaper information, the surfer trading cards also featured a short little bio on the back of each card. On the back of Surfspot's Kim Mearig card:

"Former NSSA National Team Member Kim Mearig has not only become a World Champion, winning big events like the OP Pro and Marui events, but with her clean, powerful style and cover-girl looks has become one of the most visually exciting and respected woman surfers ever. Only 22 years old, Kim will be setting the pace for years to come."

So stoked to find these and loving the fact that I discovered doubles of some of the cards. Anyone have a Frieda Zamba card they'd like to trade?   :D
