Meet Jettygirl's Advertisers - FayEtte Bikinis - http://www.etsy.com/shop/fayettebikinis FayEtte Bikinis :: Web :: Facebook :: Instagram My name is Danielle Harangody. Born and raised in Palm Beach County, my roots have nestled deep into Florida soil. However my lineage is Hungarian and Polish. As a first generation American living in Whiting, Indiana, my grandmother Marian Parsanko and her two sisters, Bernice and Josephine, made a living making handmade custom dresses and lingerie in the 1940’s. Their business grew and eventually they opened up their own clothing store on Fayette Street in Hammond, Indiana, aptly named The Fay Ette Shop. Their creative genes have been passed down to me and I have been intrigued with sewing since I was a little girl. As a former ocean lifeguard, USCG 100 ton master captain and world traveled surfer, I understand the satisfaction of finding a perfectly fitting bikini and the frustration of ‘wardrobe malfunctions’ in the lineup. Determined to have the ultimate swimsuit, I decided to tackle the art of bikini making with a passion for fashion and functionality. It is my pleasure to present to you, in loving memory of the Parsanko sisters, FayEtte Bikinis, home sewn in the sunshine state. All FayEtte Bikinis are hand made to order with limited quantities of each fabric. My bikinis are only partly designed by me--you get to customize the color combination and mix and match fabrics! Which is what makes a FayEtte Bikini so unique!

Photo Friday: Late Afternoon Roundhouse with Lulu Erkeneff. Photos by Chris Grant.

Presented by Jettygirl.com and our generous readers Today it's cold and rainy in Southern California, the type of day that lends itself perfectly to reflecting back to the warm days of summer. Of all the days I shot during that three month span, this session stands out from the rest. With a hungry pack of male world tour competitors scrounging for every wave possible, one girl held her ground and scored at least a dozen high-quality lefts that afternoon. Her name is Lulu Erkeneff. You may or may not know Lulu but due to her homebreak being the photo-friendly Salt Creek, she's quite possibly the most consistently photographed female surfer on the West Coast, a fact I'm sure makes her sponsors quite happy. Whenever I see her surf it trips me out that no major clothing sponsor has signed her yet. While they seem to hand out contracts for daily Instagram bikini shots and slip-slidey surfing these days, the brands are clearly missing a surfer who's not only smart but charges, pulls into barrels, and uses her rail in a manner that would make any power surfer grin. On this particular wave Lulu had two huge snaps out the back and as she approached me the clouds that had been obscuring the sun a moment before parted and her turn was suddenly bathed in beautiful light. While I was a bit too close to her to work much with the composition of the photos, this turn is permanently etched in my mind due to Lulu's clean rail-work and spontaneous smile after rebounding off the foam. While many of today's tricks are played out and forgotten about after the next set has rolled through, the memory of a well-placed roundhouse can stay with you forever. Lulu Erkeneff, Photo Friday.
